The job location can be viewed in image #2. The Archeologist job consists of finding artifacts from various specific locations for artifact localization (see images #3 and #4), respectively following cleaning and conservation procedures specified in each archaeologist's unique procedure (see image #1), after conserving the artifact it must be delivered to the Egyptian Merchant (see image #5).

General characteristics

  • The job is legal, located in Las Venturas city in the Lil' Probe Inn area (near the National Guard HQ) and you can work here starting at level 3.
  • The job has three main activities:
    • actual artifact localization
    • following the artifact collection and conservation procedure
    • selling it to the Egyptian Merchant
  • You can hold a maximum of 10 artifacts at the same time, then you will need to sell them if you want to create more. They can all be sold at once.
  • There are four artifact categories, each category having 10 nationalities (Romanian, Moldovan, Egyptian, Russian, Ukrainian, Tunisian, Greek, Italian, Spanish and Chinese).
  • The job gives you 1 XP for marathon if it is active and 1 XP for clan for each artifact sold.
  • You can work at this job while having wanted level.
  • You can view the number of artifacts you have through the commands /inventory, /inventar, /backpack or /inv if you have at least skill 3 at this job or at the Craftsman job.
  • The maximum skill for this job is 10.
  • If the archaeologist fails to locate the artifact and collect it within 10 minutes, they will fail to collect it.

Artifact localization time

The artifact localization time depends on your skill level, the required time is divided as follows:

  • Skill 1 - 19 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 2 - 18 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 3 - 17 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 4 - 16 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 5 - 15 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 6 - 14 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 7 - 13 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 8 - 12 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 9 - 11 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.
  • Skill 10 - 10 seconds are needed to locate an artifact.

Archaeological procedure attempt limit

The archaeological procedure attempt limit depends on your skill level, the limit is divided as follows:

  • Skill 1 - there is 1 attempt available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 2 - there are 2 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 3 - there are 3 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 4 - there are 4 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 5 - there are 5 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 6 - there are 6 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 7 - there are 7 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 8 - there are 8 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 9 - there are 9 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.
  • Skill 10 - there are 10 attempts available, otherwise the artifact will be destroyed.

Earnings and particularities by artifact

  • Romanian Artifact: worth $350, grants 1 point of skill.
  • Moldovan Artifact: worth $500, grants 1 point of skill.
  • Egyptian Artifact: worth $650, grants 1 point of skill.
  • Russian Artifact: worth $800, grants 1 point of skill.
  • Ukrainian Artifact: worth $950, grants 2 points of skill.
  • Tunisian Artifact: worth $1,100, grants 2 points of skill.
  • Greek Artifact: worth $1,250, grants 2 points of skill.
  • Italian Artifact: worth $1,400, grants 2 points of skill.
  • Spanish Artifact: worth $1,550, grants 3 points of skill.
  • Chinese Artifact: worth $1,700, grants 3 points of skill.

Note:
The above amounts represent the base value of the artifact, to this amount an additional 50% of its value is added if you have a Premium Account.
The new value is determined by the formula: (base_value / 2) + base_value

Skill advancement

  • Skill 1 to Skill 2: you will need 50 points, for a total of 50 points.
  • Skill 2 to Skill 3: you will need 100 points, for a total of 150 points.
  • Skill 3 to Skill 4: you will need 200 points, for a total of 350 points.
  • Skill 4 to Skill 5: you will need 400 points, for a total of 750 points.
  • Skill 5 to Skill 6: you will need 750 points, for a total of 1500 points.
  • Skill 6 to Skill 7: you will need 1500 points, for a total of 3000 points.
  • Skill 7 to Skill 8: you will need 2000 points, for a total of 5000 points.
  • Skill 8 to Skill 9: you will need 3000 points, for a total of 8000 points.
  • Skill 9 to Skill 10: you will need 3000 points, for a total of 11000 points.

Benefits for archaeologists working in San Fierro

  • You have a 50% chance that your artifact will be upgraded to the next level. (Ex: Romanian Artifact to Moldovan).
  • At higher skill levels you will have a chance to receive a Skin Fragment:
    • Skill 1-7: 0% chance
    • Skill 8: 1% chance
    • Skill 9: 2% chance
    • Skill 10: 3% chance
